The Australian Ministry of Communications made a statement regarding the regulation of social media platforms. Minister of Communications Michelle Rowland said, “With this decision, the responsibility for preventing online harm at a systemic level will be placed on the sector.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese touched on the risks of excessive social media use on children’s physical and mental health, and drew attention to misogynist content targeting boys.
