Statement from Turkey on the ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu

Grand National Assembly of Turkey Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş described the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Netanyahu and Gallant as a “turning point”. AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement saying, “These two names will eventually be held accountable for genocide.”

The echoes of the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant continue.

While world leaders made different interpretations of the decision, statements also came from Turkey.

TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş described the arrest warrant issued by the ICC as a “turning point.”

Kurtulmuş said that he “hopes that Netanyahu and his gang will be held accountable.”

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement saying, “The International Criminal Court’s unanimous decision to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant is a decision taken in the name of humanity. These two names will eventually be held accountable for genocide.” Çelik continued his statement on his social media account, stating: “Describing this decision as anti-Semitic is an attempt to cover up the genocide. This decision is a decision to protect human values.”
