Storm Bert brought death: Warning: “Boil water before drinking”

Storm Bert, which hit England, Ireland and Scotland, caused the deaths of five people. It was reported that more than 150 floods were expected after the storm, which caused power outages and transportation disruptions. Bert forced hundreds of people to leave their homes in different parts of England, while a warning was issued for 10 regions to boil water before drinking.

While Storm Bert continues to affect England, the number of people who lost their lives due to the strong winds and adverse weather conditions caused by the storm has increased to 5. The UK Meteorological Office (Met Office) stated that the negative effects will continue.
The Meteorological Office noted that no heavy wind or rain is expected until the weekend due to the storm, and it was reported that more than 150 flood warnings are still in effect. The statement noted that although the risk of snowfall has decreased, the rains will affect a large part of the country, especially the southwestern parts of England and the south of Wales.
A warning to boil water before drinking was issued for 10 regions in Wales after water treatment plants were affected by flooding following the storm. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer shared a post on social media platform X, stating that he had met with Wales Regional Prime Minister Eluned Morgan, and thanked the emergency services working in the region.
Welsh Police announced that a body was found in the afternoon search for 75-year-old Brian Perry, who went missing in the Conwy River in the north of the region.
A person in his 60s died when a tree fell on his car in the Hampshire region of England on Saturday, and a person in his 80s died when his car went into the water.
Two people were also reported killed in accidents in West Yorkshire and Northamptonshire.
Floods, power outages and transportation disruptions were experienced in England and Ireland over the weekend due to Storm Bert. Hundreds of people were forced to leave their homes in different parts of the UK due to the storm, while tens of thousands of homes, farms and businesses in Ireland were left without power.
