Tensions continue in the Middle East: Has Qatar closed the doors to Hamas?

Tensions continue in the Middle East. In the region where no positive results have been achieved in the ceasefire talks, the Israeli army has repeatedly targeted both southern Lebanon and Beirut. There are casualties in the attacks on the city of Tyre. Over 30 people are injured. According to the Lebanese press, the attacks caused extensive damage to buildings and a fire. Civil defense, first aid and Red Cross teams transported the wounded to hospital. Israel also hit southern Beirut. It was announced that more than 10 airstrikes were carried out in the Dahiyeh region following the call for evacuation. The regional press did not share information on whether there were any deaths or injuries in the attacks. Among the information received is that the Idlib and Aleppo countrysides in Syria were also attacked. HAS QATAR CLOSED THE GATES? On the other hand, there are also important statements regarding Hamas. According to senior officials, the US warned Qatar because Hamas did not accept the latest ceasefire offer. Allegedly, US officials said that Hamas’ presence in Doha was no longer acceptable. The Israeli press also shared a similar report. Qatar has asked Hamas officials in Doha to leave the country, according to the report.

“The leaders of the organization, who have repeatedly rejected offers to release the hostages, should no longer be welcome in the capital of any American partner,” a senior U.S. official told Reuters.

We made that clear to Qatar after Hamas rejected another offer to release the hostages weeks ago.”

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Qatar made the request to Hamas leaders about 10 days ago.

Washington has been in contact with Qatar over when Hamas’ political office would be closed and told Doha that “the time has come” after the group rejected the latest offer.
