An 8-month-old baby thought to be dead in Brazil moved during the funeral. The baby, who was immediately taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. The family, who suffered the loss of a child for the second time in 24 hours, said, “We were already devastated. Then we had some hope, but then this happened.”

8-month-old Kiara Crislayne de Moura dos Santos, who moved in her coffin during the funeral in the city of Correia Pinto, Brazil, was urgently taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite all interventions, the baby could not be saved. According to the news in The Mirror, Kiara, who was taken to Faustino Riscarolli Hospital on October 19, was diagnosed by doctors as not breathing and had no heartbeat, and her family was informed of her death. Just two hours after the news of her death, the undertaker took the baby’s body from the morgue and began preparations for the funeral.

HE HOLDS HER HAND TIGHTLY

The funeral ceremony began at 19:00 in the evening. While the grieving family was accepting condolences, one attendee noticed Kiara moving in the coffin. The ceremony was stopped and a relative ran to the baby and saw Kiara tightly grasping the hand extended to her. Medical teams called to the scene found that Kiara still had a pulse and the baby was taken back to the hospital where she was declared dead 16 hours later.

According to local media, the baby’s oxygen saturation level was 84 percent and she was taken to the intensive care unit at the hospital where she was taken but it was announced that her heart stopped again.

HE LOST HER LIFE While the family was shaken by the pain of losing their child for the second time in 24 hours, father Cristiano Santos expressed his deep sorrow by saying, “We were already devastated. Then there was a little hope, but then this happened.” The hospital admitted that the baby was declared dead by mistake and apologized to the family. It was reported that the investigation into the incident will be completed within 30 days.
