Jazmin Garza, 20, who lives in the US state of Texas, came face to face with death after drinking an energy drink before training. Garza, whose body convulsed and whose nose began to bleed in a short time, suddenly collapsed to the ground. The young girl, who had 4 heart attacks, was first brought back to life by CPR performed by her boyfriend.
Jazmin Garza, who went to the gym with her boyfriend Isaac Ayala in November, took a sip of the energy drink before starting to lift weights, and suddenly fainted. When her boyfriend ran to the young girl, he noticed that Garza was not breathing. Isaac Ayala, who brought his girlfriend back to life by performing CPR, rushed Jazmin Garza to the hospital. Healthcare workers managed to restart the 20-year-old girl’s weak heart with a defibrillator.
After having four heart attacks, it was decided that Jazmin Garza, whose stomach and kidneys began to lose function, would be connected to a life support unit.
The unfortunate girl, whose lungs and heart were also in very bad shape, miraculously recovered at the end of the 2 weeks she spent in the hospital. It is not known for sure whether energy drinks caused a sudden health problem in the 20-year-old young woman, but many previous studies have shown that excessive consumption of energy drinks is associated with cardiovascular events such as tachycardia, myocardial infarction and death.
