The company will end the sale of sedan models in Turkey as of the new year due to the latest customs duties. An additional 40 percent tax was imposed on electric cars brought from China. The scope of the tax was later expanded to include all fuel types. In addition, it is stated that Volvo will launch the fully electric ES60 in 2025 instead of the sedan model S60 in the D segment. In fact, Volvo has already stopped production in the USA. The new electric model will be launched in 2025 and it is stated that production in China will gradually decrease and end. The Volvo ES60, which is currently undergoing tests, will be launched worldwide next year as the company’s first electric sedan.
Passat ends in late 2022
On the other hand, the Passat Sedan model, which was produced by the Volkswagen Group and was very popular in our country, was discontinued in December 2022. The Volkswagen Passat was launched in 1973. It changed bodies 8 times in the 49 years it was sold. The legendary car, which was last renewed in 2019, became one of the best-selling sedan models in Turkey. The Passat Sedan was replaced by the Passat Variant.
