The worst word of the year in Germany has been announced: The jury summarized 2024 with this expression

The word “Organic German” (Biodeutsch) has been determined as the worst word of 2024 in Germany. The jury said the word was used to distinguish between Real Germans and second-class Germans.

According to a statement made by the “Worst Word of the Year” Initiative in Marburg, Germany, the word “Organic German” was chosen as the worst word of last year.
The jury noted that this word has started to be used more frequently, especially on social media, to classify and discriminate people according to their so-called biological origins.
Noting that the term “organic German” is used to distinguish between real Germans and second-class Germans, the jury noted that this is an example of everyday racism.
