Chinese company Deep Blue Aerospace has sold two tickets for a suborbital expedition in 2027 for 1.5 million yuan ($210,000). Passengers will be offered a five-minute experience of weightlessness. More tickets are planned to be sold next month.
A Chinese space and aviation company has put tickets on sale for a space tourism expedition it is planning in 2027. According to reports in the national press, two tickets were sold for 1.5 million yuan ($210,000) each on the e-commerce site Taobao yesterday evening. A company called “Deep Blue Aerospace”, headquartered in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, has become the first company in the country to sell space tourism. The company, which aims to organize a suborbital mission with a rocket in 2027, promises to carry passengers outside the atmosphere into outer space for at least 5 minutes of this 12-minute mission, allowing them to experience the loss of weight. The fact that the suborbital mission will be made with a rocket, not a special space plane, will require the company to conduct numerous unmanned flight tests in the next two years. It is anticipated that such space travels will be much cheaper in the future with the help of reusable rocket technology. The company plans to sell more tickets for the mission next month.
