Two fishing boats run aground in South Korea: 1 dead, 3 missing

The South Korean Coast Guard announced that two fishing boats carrying 15 crew members ran aground off the coast of Jeju Island. It was reported that 1 of the 12 people rescued lost their life, while the search for the 3 missing people is continuing.

A tragedy occurred off the coast of Jeju Island in South Korea. According to information obtained from the South Korean Coast Guard, 2 fishing boats sailing in the region ran aground at 09:24 local time due to bad weather conditions.

It was reported that 12 of the 15 people in the 32-ton boat with 7 crew and the 29-ton boat with 8 crew were rescued.

It was reported that the captain of the 32-ton boat, in his 50s, lost his life while being taken to the hospital.

It was announced that the other rescued crew members were not in mortal danger, and it was reported that the search for the 3 missing people was continuing.

It was noted that the captains of both boats were South Korean, and the crew members were foreigners from Vietnam and Indonesia.
