Two large wildfires that killed 29 people in the U.S. state of California have been brought under control. More than 9,400 structures were destroyed in the Eaton fire, and more than 6,800 structures were destroyed in the Palisades fire.
The ongoing efforts for the Palisades and Eaton fires, which broke out on January 7 in Los Angeles, California, U.S., are nearing completion.
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), the Palisades fire, which burned 23,448 acres, and the Eaton fire, which burned 14,021 acres, have been brought under control. It was stated that extinguishing efforts are continuing in steep terrain.
