World’s largest gold deposit found: worth $80 billion!

The world’s largest and richest gold deposit has been discovered in China. Rock samples taken from the gold deposit, which is believed to contain 1,000 tons of precious metal, revealed that each ton of ore could contain 138 grams of pure gold. Considering that ore is considered high quality if it contains just eight grams of pure gold per ton, it is inevitable that the new discovery will be the world’s most valuable gold mine. The geologists who made the discovery say that there may be more veins that have not yet been found in the area where the discovery took place.

The world’s largest gold deposit was discovered in China’s Hunan province. Geologists believe that there may be a thousand tons of precious metal here.
The value of this “supergiant gold deposit” is estimated to exceed $80 billion, making it the richest gold resource on the planet.
Scientists from the Geological Bureau of Hunan Province (GBHP) announced that they have discovered more than 40 veins beneath the Wangu goldfield in Pingjiang County.

The drilling revealed that the veins, which are more than 2,000 meters deep, contain more than 300 tons of gold.
However, more detailed three-dimensional modeling shows the existence of veins extending to a depth of 3,000 meters, holding an additional weight of 700 tons.

Rock samples taken in the field revealed that each ton of ore could contain 138 grams of pure gold.
This would be a truly staggering level of wealth, considering that ore is considered high-grade if it contains just eight grams per tonne.
Geologists have mapped the structure of the vast reserves beneath the Wangu goldfield using ore exploration techniques and three-dimensional geological modelling.
The discovery eclipses the world’s previous largest reserve, a 900-ton reserve buried at 3,000 metres deep in the South Deep mine in South Africa.

Geologists who carried out the discovery say there may be more veins yet to be found.
