Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again called on the US regarding his country’s NATO membership. Asserting that the NATO invitation is essential for his country’s salvation, the Ukrainian leader said that the US still has time to convince European skeptics.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the US to convince European skeptics regarding its NATO invitation to his country. Zelenskyy said on Sunday that there was still time for the United States to convince “skeptics” in Europe that Ukraine should be invited to join NATO.
The Ukrainian leader claimed that the NATO invitation was essential for his country’s salvation. Speaking at a press conference in Kiev, Zelenskyy said any invitation to join the alliance should apply to all of Ukraine’s territory. But he acknowledged that NATO’s defensive umbrella could not apply to occupied parts of Ukraine while the war continued.
